SPBS, formerly South Plains Biomedical Services, has its origins in the late 70’s when Richard Fischenich and a colleague, two biomedical equipment technicians, formed a partnership in Lubbock Texas to provide medical equipment repair and maintenance services. In 1985, the Company officially incorporated and began its steady growth throughout Texas and other states in the Midwestern and Southwestern U.S.
Today, SPBS has offices strategically located throughout the region to provide best in class service and technician availability and over 500 customers under contract. Our technicians are trained on the vast majority of OEM equipment and most are certified by the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation, so our customers can have confidence that they are benefiting from the most qualified service personnel.
Our Stat Division provides new and refurbished medical equipment to healthcare facilities – affordably and quickly. Our Imaging Division offers sales and service on a variety of imaging equipment providing turnkey solutions to our customers.
SPBS is a member of MERA® (Medical Equipment Repair Association), a member of AAMI (Association of the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation), and a preferred vendor of the Broadlane group purchasing organization.
